Fiona Kelly

Fiona, born in 1954, lived countrywide. However, while living in London, she took a training course in Ceramics at Goldsmiths’ College, New Cross, where she graduated in 1983. In 1985, she moved in Dorset.

Fiona is a member of the “Southern Ceramics Group” and of the “Dorset Pottery Group”.

Work in numerous shops and Galleries.

Stoneware:

The work is handthrown, turned, altered and/or decorated. The decoration is applied using the paper-resist technique (using paper cutouts and a coloured slip), then it is fired in an electric kiln to 1000°C.

The other technique used is the “glaze on glaze”. Fiona uses three glazes and, depending on which is applied first and how thick the glazes are, this gives a wide range of possibility.  Then, the work is fired a second time to 1280°C.

All work is oven, dishwasher and microwave proof.
